Pictures from Mexico (Day 4)

Monday was the first day that we worked with the children in Vacation Bible School. Each of us took a station and the kids moved from one station to another. We had games and contests and then we worked our way into crafts. Needless to say, we left the teaching to those who were a little more familiar with the language!

After VBS was over some of us spent time working on the building. (ie. toilets, roof, lighting, etc) Janet was a little concerned that Duane might come falling through the roof, but he was wise enough to run for parts and not get up there in the first place.

We also had a puppet show for the kids, and one thing is for sure…MEXICAN CHILDREN DO LOVE THEIR PUPPETS!!!
All the little children were really cute, but there were a couple I really had to take pictures of. You see the cute little girl that came in with the heavy winter coat. It really wasn’t cold that day but she was really attached to that coat and didn’t want to take it off. Then there is “Pepe”. He is so cute you want to pack him in your carry on!

Pictures from Mexico (Day 3)

Started our day at Blake’s church (La Roca De Vida) where Duane preached the sermon and Mark gave testimony. Then we proceeded to “Suffer for Jesus” at the bowling alley. We made up three teams and bowled for one hour. It didn’t matter if you guttered it or made a strike, everyone cheered! Then a few of us proceeded down the PACKED streets of Mexico City to get true authentic tacos, where they shaved the meat from a piece of huge ham on a spit, and we became familiar with the infamous habanero.

Pictures from Mexico (Day 1)

Arrived in Mexico City at 4:30pm. Got to meet our host families, went to Blake’s church (La Roca de Vida) and played games as an icebreaker. The loser of the game had to dance in front of the entire group. Mark Falter was the first to Dance and Teresa was soon to follow.

In addition we worked on setting up some crafts and activities for Vacation Bible School and the church had a taco dinner for us that evening. Went home with our host families soon thereafter
