Mexico City (Day 7)

Today was the LAST DAY :o(

We started the day with some new games for the kids. One of the games was meant to get them quiet and ready for the teaching time. This game was played by putting a blinded person in the middle, and then one of the kids would quietly try to touch them. If the person in the middle caught them, then the caught person had to go into the middle. Lots of fun…and quiet too!

Then we wrapped the week up with some of the parents coming to hear the children say their Bible verses, and after they said the verses from memory, they were given their bags, which included all of the week’s crafts that they had done.

A final puppet show presented God’s salvation of Daniel to the children and their parents.  Jaquelin, one of the youth, then wrapped up VBS by presenting the redeeming love of Christ to everyone.

We then proceeded to the City Market for some shopping and finally the MOST difficult time of all came–an ice cream party that evening. It was also the time a few people gave testimonies of what God showed them over the past week and several goodbyes were said. There was such a bond built between Cornerstone and La Roca De Vida that leaving was very emotional to say the least.

Several of us figured that we didn’t have to get up until 4am so we had “PLENTY” of time for a get together at Ernesto’s apartment where his grandmother fixed us our final “Authentic” Mexican meal.

And a good time was had BY ALL!
